Information about Watercolour Paper:
- HP – smooth (good for pen and ink drawing)
- Not – this paper is not smooth/not rough – general good quality watercolour paper we use for most watercolour technical processes etc
- Rough – textured (paper texture/pores more dimpled/pitted)
Acid Free – this means the paper will not discolour.
You need paper of this weight/thickness to work on:
l40lb = 350grms Watercolour paper. Paper less than this in weight will cockle & not hold the washes. Some people stretch their paper by soaking it in water and using gum tape to stick it down. However this can be time consuming particularly if you need more than one piece of paper to work on.
Please Note: Tales Press Art Suppliers, Dam Street, Lichfield – are very helpful and knowledgeable about all equipment sold. They will help you buy what is needed for the drawing & painting course.
